As a Dundee homeowner and local attorney, Brian Fahey has a deep and abiding love for his native Omaha. Growing up in the Field Club neighborhood, Brian learned to treasure midtown Omaha’s community of tight-knit neighborhoods. He is running for Douglas County Commissioner to protect that same quality of life for his two daughters and all the residents of District 5.
Brian graduated from Central High School, where he met his wife, Sara. After college, he worked as both a nonprofit manager and church choir director. He earned his law degree with high distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law and is in private practice in Omaha.
Brian’s legal practice ranges from advising Omaha businesses of all sizes to fighting for injured plaintiffs in court. Representing everyone from large businesses to injured individuals allows Brian to understand the importance of protecting government services for everyone and the need to operate these services efficiently.
In the community, he serves on the boards of multiple nonprofit organizations and sings in several community choirs. His wife Sara is a music teacher at Central High School, and they are the proud parents of two daughters.
Campaigns cost money. Whether it's sending mail to voters, buying yard signs, or reaching out on social media, every dollar makes a difference!
Brian is running for County Commissioner because he knows our quality of life depends on the services Douglas County provides. From public health to public safety, the County Board has to protect and administer county services in a reliable and cost-effective manner. As a lawyer for low-income individuals, Brian knows that everyone deserves to have someone fighting for them. Brian’s family has relied on the county’s services, that’s why he knows how important they are for many Douglas County residents. He is ready to continue this same advocacy on the County Board.
“As an attorney advising Omaha businesses, I know what it takes to deliver vital services by improving efficiency and managing budgets. On the County Board, I’ll protect our county services and support mental healthcare access, while keeping costs in check.
Expand access to affordable mental healthcare. Douglas County is Nebraska’s largest mental healthcare provider. I’ll support our county healthcare services, because I believe that everyone should be able to receive the care they need.
Promote affordability and lower taxes. As an attorney, I have advised Omaha businesses of all sizes on budgeting and operating efficiently. We have to work harder to control costs and lower the tax burden for Douglas County residents.
Be open, honest, and accountable to you. Being a public servant means always remembering you work for the voters. I promise to be available to you and promote honesty and transparency on the Board.
